WELCOME CLASS OF 2026! OUR GOALS ARE COLLEGE & HEAVEN!

Dear Parents:

I am delighted to wish you a HAPPY NEW SCHOOL YEAR!  I’m anticipating an exciting and rewarding 2012/2013 school year and look forward to getting to know both you and your children.  We have so many exciting things happening this year, and I can't wait to get started!  As many of you know, I taught at Transfiguration for many years, and am an alumnus of Transfiguration’s graduating class of 1976. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year, our 1st year as a Notre Dame ACE Academy!

Your child’s grades will be based on tests, projects, homework and seatwork.  Tests and  projects count 60%, while homework, participation and seatwork count 40%.  Should your child have an unsatisfactory test grade (D or F), the test must be corrected and signed by a parent and returned the following school day.

Homework is assigned every day except Friday.  Please be sure that your child’s homework is NEAT and COMPLETE.  After you have checked over your child’s work, I ask that you read and then sign their agenda book.  If the agenda hasn’t been signed by a parent (no initials, please!), the child will be given an incomplete homework slip.  It is the child’s responsibility to have their parent sign their agenda book.  Homework that is given is a review of what has been taught in class.  Please take a few minutes each night to check your child’s progress.  If an assignment is not completed, the student will have one additional day to turn it in to receive partial credit.  If the assignment is 2 or more days late, no credit will be given.

If your child is absent, a list of assignments and books will be placed upon their desk or sent home with a sibling if you have other children attending Sacred Heart..  If your child is absent one day, they will have one day to make it up, if they are absent for 2 days, they will have 2 days to make it up, etc.  When your child returns to school, he/she should have a note for me explaining their absence.  Missed tests will be given the day of their return (unless other arrangements have been made in advance).

Student papers will be sent home every other week.  Please use this time to review your child’s work.  If an assignment is missing, or your child has received an unsatisfactory test grade,  he/she has 1 school day to complete and/or correct the paper.

Our P.E. days are Monday and Thursday.  The students will need to come to school in their school uniforms and will change into their P.E. clothes.

Behavior Policy

Our classroom rules are:

  1. Treat everyone with respect..
  2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.
  3. Use kind words.
  4. Follow all teacher directions.

Our consequences are:

  1. Verbal warning
  2. Green Card changed to a yellow (recess may be missed)
  3. Yellow Card changed to red (no recess & conduct slip and/or phone call home)
  4. Conference

Positive reinforcement will be given in the form of a letter from the teacher in the agenda, verbal praise, certificates, etc.  Your child’s agenda book will serve as our main communication system for any concerns, questions, behavior issues and positive notes.

PLEASE insure that your child arrives to school on time.  It sets the tone for the entire day.  If your child is tardy, he/she will need to go to the office for a tardy slip before being admitted to class.  If the tardies are excessive, the parent will be notified.

I am available most afternoons, after school, if you have any questions or would like to schedule a conference.  Please call and schedule an appointment.  Notes written in the agenda will be promptly answered and are an excellent means of daily communication between parent and teacher!

I want to thank you in advance for all your support.  Together we will continue to work toward success and high student achievement.  I am very excited about the year ahead, and look forward to having the privilege of teaching your child!

Fondly,

Robbie Mueller,

Grade 3 Teacher
